Note: Windows Subsystem for Linux is officially unsupported at this time. However, several community members have had success getting it to run and one of them contributed the below instructions. Thank you, @whataday2day !

How to run Coda node using Windows Subsystem for Linux

  1. Enable WSL via powershell. Run the cmd(console) as the administrator --> paste the command below --> Restart your PC
powershell Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
  1. Install Ubuntu 18.04 from Microsoft Store https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/ubuntu-1804-lts/9n9tngvndl3q#activetab=pivot:overviewtab

  2. Run Ubuntu 18.04 and wait until installation complete

  3. Choose username and password

  4. Copy and paste the command below into terminal (all 4 lines as one command)

echo "deb [trusted=yes] http://packages.o1test.net release main" \
| sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/coda.list && \
sudo apt-get update && \
sudo apt-get install -t release coda-testnet-postake-medium-curves=0.0.1-beta.2-fd4fb398 -y

Enter your password and hit “Enter”

Note that you’ll likely be prompted twice via Windows Defender Firewall to allow both coda-kademlia as well as coda
